In a time of unprecedented change with both opportunities and challenges philosophy is more important than ever. Three trends made me launch this page:
1. Easy distractions
We live in a world where there are so many distractions. It is easy to get caught in social media and wasting a lot of time. Without reflection it is also easy to think that the meaning of life is a lot of money, expensive cars and designer clothing. Philosophy can help you find what you really want.
2. Simple solutions are everywhere
Today social media are filled with simple lists, and many try to exploit our need for meaning. Philosophy can help you understand that there are no easy fixes and the journey towards the best version of yourself never ends.
3. Philosophy is a fantastic tool
Few today are aware of the powerful tools that philosophy provides, and in social media philosophy is often reduced to a quote, or a simple list. Philosophy can be so much more, and in a time where AI, robotics, biotechnology, nanotechnology, etc, are converging with the need to create a better world philosophy is needed.
The Best Version of Yourself (BVY) is an initiative to help the next generation become the best version of themselves, as well as help this next generation guide society towards a better future, with the help of philosophy. The initiative provides tools both for individual development as well as tools for leaders that want to help others explore philosophy for the 21st and 22nd century.
My name is Fenix, born in 2012/first generation alpha. Two years ago I started a Swedish website with a campaign to bring philosophy into schools and help make philosophy a mainstream activity. The page has been a great success with multiple collaborations, media interest, and most important… a huge interest among youth, parents, teachers, academics, business leaders, and many more..
After attending a philosophy course at MIT, a project in Paris, and an increased international interest I decided to launch this website to reach out to a global audience. The initial idea is to make the tools I’ve developed and plan to develop on my Swedish page available in English and hopefully also be able to launch international collaborations.
Your feedback will help me create a better website with the potential to bring philosophy to many more making it possible for them to become the best version of themselves. Also, don't hesitate to share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences!
